Course Walkthrough
Hole 1
PAR 4 / YARDS 366
The South Course opening hole is a medium length par 4. Favor the right side of the fairway with your tee shot for the best angle to this green. If you are left off the tee, the large oak trees will more than likely have you scrambling for par. The green is sloped slightly back to front; you should have a good chance at par.
Hole 2
PAR 4 / YARDS 418
This dogleg right plays slightly uphill from the tee box. If you can hit your tee shot down the right side of the fairway, you will leave yourself a mid-iron approach into the green. Birdie is a possibility if you avoid the three surrounding bunkers as this green is generally flat.
Hole 3
PAR 3 / YARDS 197
On this uphill par 3, make sure to take an extra club to compensate. Anything that lands short of the green will roll back and leave you a tough up and down. Watch out for the front pin location, the green can be very quick. Par here is a good score.
Hole 4
PAR 4 / YARDS 372
From the tee, this hole seems like a birdie possibility. Don't be fooled, this is a very difficult green and will take a great second shot to get in the right position. Favor the right side of this fairway as the slope will take your ball left. If your distance control is spot on you will have a good birdie chance, if not, you will be looking at a possible three putt.
Hole 5
PAR 4 / YARDS 359
A tee shot down the left side will leave you with a short iron into this elevated green. A relatively short par 4, this hole will give you a good chance at birdie. The only difficult pin location on this green is back right, otherwise you should have a good chance at par.
Hole 6
PAR 4 / YARDS 380
This difficult par 4 will require two great shots to hit the green. This fairway runs downhill and the approach is uphill. Make sure and watch your yardage off the tee as there is a creek at the bottom of the landing area. With your approach shot uphill, make sure you take enough club. This green is the most difficult on the course, aim for the center and have fun!
Hole 7
PAR 3 / YARDS 211
The longest par 3 on the course plays downhill and occasionally against a right-to-left wind. Avoid the two bunkers and watch out for the back right portion of this green. If you miss this green, the best position is short and in front. If you are lucky enough to hit the green in regulation, you will have a good look at birdie.
Hole 8
PAR 4 / YARDS 422
Most balls will end up left on this hole because of the severe right-to-left slope in the fairway. Play your tee shot down the right side to maximize your distance. Make sure to play enough club on your approach shot, long is better than short and will give you a better chance at up and down. Besides the ridge in the middle, this green is large and generally flat.
Hole 9
PAR 5 / YARDS 512
This downhill dogleg left par 5 is reachable for long hitters and a definite birdie opportunity. Left center of this fairway is ideal, but leaving yourself with a good distance for your approach shot is key. Avoid the water left of the green and watch out for the back pin location and you should have a good look at birdie.
Hole 10
PAR 4 / YARDS 361
You will start the back nine with a short dogleg right par 4. If you can put yourself in the middle of this fairway, you will have a good chance at par. Make sure to avoid the two front bunkers, and you should be able to hold this large green and have a good look at birdie.
Hole 11
PAR 5 / YARDS 569
Place your drive down the right side of the fairway on this dogleg left par 5. The water hazard on the left will be in play the entire hole. Most players will lay up and have a short mid iron shot into this slightly elevated green. Once your ball is on the green, you should go to the next hole with a two putt.
Hole 12
PAR 4 / YARDS 428
A slight dogleg right par 4 that can play slightly into a breeze, you want to play your tee shot down the right center to leave yourself in the best position. You may want to take an additional half club here to offset the elevation to this large green. If you hit a good second shot, you will have a good look at birdie as this green doesn't have too much slope.
Hole 13
PAR 5 / YARDS 495
With out of bounds left and right, accuracy with your tee shot is more important than length. The fairway can cause for a difficult lay up because of the undulation. Water comes into play as you get closer to this green, so make sure and leave yourself with a short iron for your approach. The front left pin position on this green is probably the toughest. Play for the center of this green and take your two putt.
Hole 14
PAR 4 / YARDS 382
This medium length par 4 is a slight dogleg to the right. Avoid the fairway bunkers on the right side and you should have a good chance to reach this green in regulation. Protected by a few deep bunkers, this green slopes from back to front and can be quick if putting downhill.
Hole 15
PAR 3 / YARDS 185
Water comes into play on this slightly downhill par 3. Carry the water and you should be able to get up and down on this large green that slopes from back to front. With a good tee shot, birdie is possible.
Hole 16
PAR 4 / YARDS 330
Make sure to avoid the right side of this hole, as the bunker and oak trees will make this relatively short par 4 a challenge. Any shot coming up short to this green will roll back down to the bottom of the hill and leave for a tough up and in. The front half of this green slopes to the front and the back right of this green will fall away from you.
Hole 17
PAR 3 / YARDS 198
This par 3 can play difficult with an occasional right-to-left breeze. With trouble left and a narrow green opening, you want to favor the right side of this green. Missing your tee shot anywhere short and right will leave you with a makeable up and down.
Hole 18
PAR 5 / YARDS 500
The finishing hole on the South Course is the third par 5 on the back nine. This dogleg left is reachable for long hitters, but most will layup short of the enormous bunkers protecting the green. With a proper layup, you should have a short iron into this green. The eighteenth is one of the biggest greens on the course; birdie here is possible to finish the round.
Hole 1
PAR 4 / YARDS 432
Favor the right side of the fairway on this medium length par 4. An accurate drive should leave you with a mid-range iron shot to this slightly elevated green. The green side bunkers may cause for a tough up and down, play a half club longer on this approach to give yourself the best chance at an opening par.
Hole 2
PAR 3 / YARDS 193
With the elevation of this green, make sure you take an extra club. The green slopes slightly from back to front and is much larger than it appears from the tee. If you miss club and land in the right bunker, you will most likely take bogey to the next tee!
Hole 3
PAR 4 / YARDS 399
One of the most difficult tee shots on the front nine, your tee shot on this dogleg left must avoid the large oak trees to give yourself an opening to this green. Your approach shot will determine your score here, as the green slopes considerably from left to right. If you leave yourself above the hole, you will have a challenging two-putt ahead of you.
Hole 4
PAR 4 / YARDS 378
With the slope of this fairway, make sure to aim down the left side for ideal positioning. Avoid the fairway bunker on the right as this is a difficult green to hit in regulation. The fourth green is very shallow and will require precise distance control in order to get it close. With the severe slopes behind the green, overshooting this green will give your short game a real test.
Hole 5
PAR 5 / YARDS 536
This medium-length, double-dogleg par 5 will give you your first good opportunity at birdie! Driver straightaway will leave you in good position for your lay up; longer hitters will be enticed to go for this green in two. A good second shot just in front of the fairway bunkers will leave you with a short iron into this slightly elevated green. A large green with subtle breaks should give you a good look at birdie.
Hole 6
PAR 4 / YARDS 431
One of the most difficult par 4s on the front nine, this hole is usually into a slight breeze and will require two accurate golf shots to set up birdie. With a large fairway bunker that sneaks in on the left side and tall trees on the right, your tee shot needs to be down the middle in order to score on this hole. An approach shot left of this green will leave you a very challenging shot as this green runs away from you.
Hole 7
PAR 3 / YARDS 209
The longest par 3 on the North Course will require an accurate shot in order to give yourself a run at birdie. Avoiding both bunkers is a must, this hole plays slightly longer and at times plays through a crosswind. You may want to play a half club longer here, with a large green, long won't hurt you.
Hole 8
PAR 4 / YARDS 344
Position off this tee is crucial for your approach shot. With a water hazard right and out of bounds left, medium to long hitters will generally use a fairway wood from the tee for more accuracy. If you find the fairway, you will likely have a short iron to the green. This green slopes from back to front, one of the toughest greens on the course, a two putt here and you're gaining on the field!
Hole 9
PAR 5 / YARDS 521
This elevated tee gives you the green light for a big drive. A well placed tee shot that turns from right to left will put you in the best position. Leave yourself with a comfortable yardage in the fairway, as this green is slightly elevated, narrow and protected by a large bunker. If your distance control is right, you will have a putt for birdie, if not, you'll need a good short game to get up and down.
Hole 10
PAR 4 / YARDS 409
A drive down the left center of the fairway will leave you the best angle to hit this green in two. The right side is guarded by a fairway bunker and a large oak tree that is likely to change your shot shape or even block your approach. Starting the back nine with a par is likely as long as you avoid the large greenside bunker on the left.
Hole 11
PAR 3 / YARDS 174
This beautiful short par 3 over water is the signature hole on the North Course. Although short, this hole has many difficult pin locations, par on this hole is a good score.
Hole 12
PAR 4 / YARDS 363
An accurate drive to the left side of this fairway will likely set up a short to mid-iron shot into this green. Fairway wood off the tee may give you a better chance at avoiding the bunkers and the out of bounds on the right side. The green is sloped from back to front. Give yourself an uphill putt and you may have your first birdie on the back nine!
Hole 13
PAR 4 / YARDS 413
A drive down the right center will put you in ideal scoring position. It's slightly elevated, anything short will likely roll back down in front of the green and be a challenge. This hole has a couple of tricky pin locations, play your approach to the center and give yourself a birdie putt.
Hole 14
PAR 4 / YARDS 389
If you position your tee shot away from the fairway bunker, you can consider this a birdie. Play your drive down the left side to have the best angle. If you can find the green in two, you will leave yourself with a make-able birdie putt as this is large and generally flat.
Hole 15
PAR 3 / YARDS 187
This challenging par 3 will get your blood pumping. Hitting with the wrong club may cost you a penalty stroke and missing left of the green will leave you with a nearly impossible up and down. Par is a fantastic score on this very tough hole.
Hole 16
PAR 5 / YARDS 521
Keep your drive right on this straightaway par 5 as a water hazard runs down the entire hole on the left side. A comfortable layup to the left center of the fairway should present you a good angle and a short iron into this green. This green slopes gently from right to left.
Hole 17
PAR 4 / YARDS 355
The ideal drive on this short, dogleg left par 4 will be positioned on the far right side of the fairway (aim towards the large oak tree). A tee shot too far left off the tee and you will get blocked out by the tall Redwood Trees. Make sure you take extra club on your approach as the green is uphill and protected by a small pot bunker. Everything slopes to the middle of the green a good second shot will leave you with a good look at birdie.
Hole 18
PAR 5 / YARDS 539
This finishing hole is the longest par 5 on the North Course. Avoid the fairway bunkers on the right off the tee and you should be able to leave yourself in perfect position to hit this green in regulation. Short left on your approach will make for a difficult par. Play towards the middle back of this green to ensure a finishing par.
