Yalda Teranchi has been with The Spa at Silverado for three years and was named Spa Director in January, 2004. She was born in Iran, grew up in Sonoma Valley where she now resides with her daughter, Olivia. She graduated from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California with a degree in theory of communications in 1994. She has since worked at such distinguished resorts as Colorado’s Broadmoor Hotel, La Quinta Resort & Club, and Ritz-Carlton spas at Rancho Mirage and
Half Moon Bay.
Teranchi calls herself a “hands-on” leader and believes that listening to, recognizing and appreciating staff members are key motivators for positive morale. “If we take good care of our staff, then they will take good care of our guests – and that is our number one goal,” she says.
The 16,000 square foot Spa at Silverado is a classic Roman style spa which Teranchi considers to be the finest spa in Napa Valley. The facility includes a 25-meter 4-lane lap pool and outdoor whirlpool; men’s and women’s lounges; a full fitness facility; a full spa menu with treatments offered in 16 elegant treatment rooms and 3 outdoor cabanas; and a spa boutique featuring products lines such as Aveda and Bumble and bumble.
Teranchi looks forward to the opening of The Grill at Silverado as yet another means of catering to visitors to Silverado, as well as the local community. “We are all very excited about the new restaurant,” she says. “It will be an extension of the healthful, relaxing environment Silverado is known for.” |
