Dan Edson, Director of Sales
Dan Edson, Director of Sales
at Silverado Resort, resides in Napa with his wife, Kathleen, and their
two children. He traveled the world for 10 years after graduating from the
University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree
before choosing a career in the hospitality industry. A native of Palo
Alto, he visited more than 50 countries before accepting positions with
the Hyatt Regency, San Francisco, and the Hotel Intercontinental in Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil. Although Bali, Kenya, and Brazil rank among his favorite
places, Edson always had Napa Valley in mind as the place he would
eventually make his home. Upon returning to the United States and locating
in Napa Valley, he worked at Meadowood Resort before arriving at Silverado
where his former colleague at Hyatt Regency in San Francisco, Kirk
Candland, hired him to serve as Director of Sales in 1987. Xanterra Parks
& Resorts has honored Edson twice as “Director of Sales of the Year”
for his civic and industry accomplishments, and the Napa Valley Conference
and Visitors Bureau named him “Member of Year” in 1993. “My goal is to
make Silverado an extension of our Napa Valley community,” he says. “Our
new restaurant, The Grill at Silverado, will be a perfect place for
business people to meet and a beautiful place with a great view to take
the entire family for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The new building also
includes a fantastic golf shop and will be a tremendous resource for
members of the community, as wells as resort guests.”
