Jeff Goodwin, 25 year veteran of professional golf, serves as the Golf
Professional for Silverado Resort.
In this capacity, he oversees a 58 member staff, the day-to-day operations of all golf
play on the resorts North and South Courses, putting greens and driving range, in
addition to responsibilities for the Golf Shop, Sundries Shop, all Country Club membership
events and tournament schedules, Napa community charity tournament events, Napa College
and Napa High School Golf Team practice play, the Annual Johnny Miller Junior Golf
Tournament and Silverados involvement as host for the prestigious annual
Transamerica Tournament (a Senior PGA Tour event).
Prior to his affiliation with Silverado Country Club & Resort, Mr. Goodwin was the
Assistant Golf Professional for the Mission Hills Golf Course in Rancho Mirage from 1974
to 1980. His responsibilities included coordinating operations for two 18-hole
championship courses as well as the clubs host duties for the Nabisco Dinah Shore
Classic (an LPGA Tour event) and the 1976 World Cup, an international competition
involving two players representing 40 different countries.
During the years of 1969 to 1974, Mr. Goodwin was the Assistant Golf Professional for the
Eldorado Country Club in Indian Wells, California (home of the Bob Hope Dessert Classic
and 1958 Ryder Cup matches). Since 1969, he has competed in professional golf events
throughout the United States, Canada, South America and Australia, including regular PGA
Tour and Nike Tour events.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Mr. Goodwin attended the University of Jacksonville in
Jacksonville, Florida on a golf scholarship. Currently, he resides in Napa and is a member
of the Professional Golfers Association of America. He continues to conduct educational
seminars and instructional courses at Silverado as well as participate in Northern
California professional tournament events on a limited basis.
